A journey between cultures, traditions and healing
I’m Zubair, a massage therapist and holistic practitioner based in Crete, Greece.
I was born in Pakistan and come from a South Asian cultural background with a long connection to traditional healing practices, spirituality, music and oral traditions.
From an early age, I was surrounded by the idea that wellbeing is not only about the physical body. Traditional approaches often looked at the person as a whole, including the body, emotions, relationships, environment and inner life.
This background became an important foundation for my own journey.
From tradition to my own path
Growing up with traditional healing influences gave me an early curiosity about how people experience pain, wellbeing, connection and change.
As my life developed, I explored different approaches for myself, including massage and bodywork, Ayurveda, meditation, yoga, Sufi traditions, energy work, sound and movement.
At the same time, living in Europe for many years introduced me to different cultures, perspectives and ways of understanding wellbeing.
My work today is therefore shaped by both worlds:
the traditional wisdom I grew up around and the modern, individual approach I developed through my life in Europe.
The influence of my South Asian heritage
The Indian subcontinent has a rich history of practices involving touch, movement, breath, meditation, music and awareness.
My connection with these traditions has influenced the way I approach my work.
Sufi music and singing have also been an important part of my life. Rhythm, voice, breath and presence have taught me that healing and wellbeing can sometimes begin simply by becoming more aware of ourselves.
I don’t believe that one tradition has all the answers.
I prefer to learn from different traditions while keeping my work grounded, respectful and relevant to the individual.
My approach to massage and bodywork
Massage became an important part of my journey because it brings awareness back to something very immediate: the body.
Every person is different, so I don’t follow one fixed routine.
I listen first.
Then I adapt the pressure, techniques, pace and focus according to the person’s needs and preferences.
Depending on the session, my work may include therapeutic massage, deeper muscular techniques, gentle bodywork, movement, breath or complementary holistic practices.
Your comfort, communication and boundaries always come first.
Beyond massage
Massage is one part of what I offer.
I also work with holistic practices involving meditation, energy work, sound, movement and Sufi-inspired approaches.
I am also developing workshops, retreats and private experiences in Crete, bringing together wellbeing, nature, culture, movement and human connection.
My intention is not to create a complicated spiritual system.
It is much simpler:
to create meaningful spaces where people can slow down, become more aware and reconnect with themselves.
Why Healingside?
Healingside is personal.
You work directly with me, rather than with a large wellness company.
I welcome people from different cultures, backgrounds and beliefs. You don’t need to follow a particular spiritual tradition or share my beliefs.
Come as you are.
Whether you are looking for therapeutic massage, relaxation, body awareness, a holistic session or a deeper experience in Crete, we can begin from where you are.
